can i get that thimble request from jack?

idk if it can only happen after i give him the penny dreadful book but i'm just checking to make sure

on my second playthrough i'm at the point where i've completed Pouring Fourth Oil IV, have not done An American Pastoral Scene, and Abigail wants me to do A Fisher of Men. I don't want to do A Fisher of Men until i'm sure i can get that request afterwards, cuz i don't want to miss it. What mission do you have to complete to unlock the request and at what point does it no longer become available?
