Should I move on, or is there still a chance she may reconnect?
I’m looking for an outside perspective about a girl from my medical college, and I’d appreciate honest opinions rather than reassurance.
When I first knew her, I was repeating my first year while she was a first-year fresher. We were from the same city, and both were hostellers, so we had that in common.
I used to notice her quite a lot, and I think she became aware of it. There were some awkward/small interactions between us, but we were never actually in a relationship or even close friends.
At one point, I messaged her. I greeted her, mentioned that I studied there, and asked for her address. She didn't respond. There wasn't any meaningful conversation between us afterward.
There were also some other small interactions that I sometimes interpreted as possibly meaningful. However, looking back, I realize I may have been overthinking some of them. She never clearly told me that she was interested in me.
Due to personal reasons, I was unable to appear for the second-year exams and am repeating the second year with the new batch. I'm now trying to decide whether I should also completely move on emotionally from this situation.
My question is:
Is there any realistic possibility that she might eventually try to connect with me herself, or should I consider this chapter completely closed?
I'm not planning to chase her or repeatedly contact her as I never did. I don't want to pursue someone who isn't interested. I'm specifically wondering whether there is any reason, based on the history, to think she might reach out someday.
The fact that we were from the same city and both hostellers makes me wonder if there was ever some potential connection.
If you were in my position, would you completely move on and leave the door closed unless she herself reaches out? And if she tries to connect, then would you accept her?
