First time buyers help!

Hi people of Ireland.

My husband and I (30,23) are looking to use the first time buyers scheme, I’m a bit helpless when it comes to stuff like this and have more questions than answers.
Do I need any savings for this scheme/ can the money from the scheme be used as a deposit.
We’ve lived in this house for 2 years and our landlord is looking to sell.
Do I need proof that I’m approved for a mortgage before we apply for the scheme?

If anyone has used this scheme or has any tips about buying your first home please let me know.

As far as I know we can’t use HTB scheme because it’s not a new build house.
