Am I going to miss anything major if I watch Original Sin after Resurrection?

I just finished New Blood and I am wondering if, despite it being a prequel series, I will miss any pertinent information for Resurrection if I watch them out of order. I am looking forward to the prequel but I am chomping at the bit to get the events following the end of New Blood.

Does Original Sin take place entirely in the past or are there bits from the present sprinkled in? I don't want to google it because I had part of New Blood's finale spoiled for me while googling other stuff about the series.
