Help, my photography is actually getting worse, lol, how do I get back to where I started from?

Discussion/General

I've watched too many photography tutorials, browsed too many photography books, and searched for too many online photography articles, and now I'm overthinking it. As a result, I think my photography is actually getting worse. I've somehow lost the fresh eyes of a beginner but still lack the prowess of a pro. I've gone from,

"Oh, this seems like a good scene to practice what I've learned"

to,

"How will this intense summer light affect dynamic range at the lowest ISO? And is the figure ground relationship sufficiently defined? Can I separate the subject using focus at this lens's sweet spot of f5.6-f8? I want to capture a fleeting gesture, but what is the emotion I want to convey? What is this picture about, what is the story it tells? Why did I think this scene was interesting, and how do I communicate that to the audience?"

I seriously don't know how to get back on track so I appreciate any words of wisdom, thanks.
