Divorce is exhausting

My husband and I have been together 16 years. I have carried a lot of the household and childcare responsibilities while completing graduate school and often working full time. I always knew my husband had an issue with substances and multiple times worked on trying to live a life of sobriety. We put $30,000 of dental implants in his mouth five years ago and paid off that loan. In 2024 on Christmas Eve, I found him overdosing in our backyard and was thankfully able to save him and get him help but he refused to get treatment. I figured this would be enough to scare him considering we share a 12-year-old daughter. But he was right back to drinking and acted like nothing happened. He denied the trauma that it caused me since I’ve been diagnosed PTSD and I’ve lived in fear of the experience every day. He weaponizes my mental health and I found out last year that he’s been using crystal meth for the last five years. He trivializes it and says he only does it a couple times a week and that I’m a nag and now he wants a divorce and has separated all of his finances from me. I tried to get an attorney, but they stole money from me and I’m not in a situation to continue to hire legal support. I wanna remain in the marital home as I take our daughter to and from school and facilitate all of her educational and medical needs. He has money that he got from his mom as an inheritance and always promised it would be ours and we’ve shared income for the last 16 years. When I met him, I made more money than him, but I’ve often sacrificed working around his career and the needs of the children as they have progressed the school. But laws have changed in Florida and I have asked him to leave several times if he wants to use. Getting the house is my idea I worked and saved diligently while he was still using substances I was pregnant with our child working six days a week at a diner to save and got us in a program that helped with our down payment. It was my future idea of passive income, and something I wanted to pass along to my kid. I’m just frustrated and scared.
