Makeup does not make you feel confident, it makes you feel normal.

outside of artistic expression (for the purposes of appearances) makeup is harmful to women. women are told theyre ugly and not enough societally and by these companies to push them into being extremely insecure and feeling like they need these products to look normal. most people dont call this out because its so normalized but think about it: why arent men wearing makeup to feel more confident? because their arent a billion brands in their face telling them to. is it really ‘your choice’ if you’ve been peer pressured since childhood? theres nothing ‘empowering’ about makeup. it is a cage.
