My single biggest study distraction wasn't TikTok. It was YouTube's homepage.
I thought I had YouTube under control because I wasn't watching random content I was watching lecture recordings and study videos. Totally fine.
Except every time I opened YouTube to find a tutorial, the homepage loaded first. And on the homepage was always something slightly more interesting than the thing I came to find. A documentary. A video essay. A creator I follow posting something new.
I'd tell myself I'll watch this after I finish studying and then I'd watch it before. Every time.
The fix that actually worked I stopped going to youtube.com entirely. I bookmark every channel I actually use and go there directly. The homepage never loads.
If you're losing study time to YouTube, try avoiding the homepage specifically. It's a different beast from the rest of the site.
