Ringworm in cats

Left my vet appointment today feeling defeated and stressed and worried. My kitten has ringworm with a 3rd lesion popping up last night. She’s been on topical medication for about a week and the vet now is recommending oral medication which is totally fine by me. He scared me a lot stating it’s going to be months process that it’s extremely hard to treat and get rid of and that it might end up being chronic or not going away. I just need one ounce of positive thinking because right now I’m freaking out
