No longer a discount for veterans/military but police discount remains?

I can not grasp the idea that they would take away a military/veterans discount but leave a police discount available. Just another fuck you to all the people who dedicated and risk their lives for this country. I genuinely cannot comprehend why there would be a discount for police officers (not to discredit them at all) but not for the men fighting for our country.
