Quick Question Regarding denial

Hi,

So I got approved for Amex gold but didn’t accept the offer. I think my phone turned off or something when I was about to accept it and the next day I tried and it said we’re sorry you’re not accepted or something.

Why did this happen? Did this happen because I applied twice in 24 hours?

I’m thinking of waiting a month and trying again.
