Where do I even start?
Hi all, I’m a FTM (full time at home) to 9 month old boy who recently started pulling himself up and crawling all over the house.
I live in Australia with my husband and have no family here. My friends either have much older kids or are in different phase- hence no friends in common.
Prior to baby, like everyone else I worked and have always been on my own since I moved here. This year being a mum really challenged my identity (tho I really do love being a mum).
I guess my struggle is that I’ve switched roles but till this day still can’t seem to find my foot around this.
My daily routine is back to back with baby and chores and there are days where he would only nap for 1 hour and I can’t seem to do anything- even like taking a shower.
And after a long day when my husband finally comes home, I am so done with everything ! I really don’t have the energy to be ‘wife’ anymore even just normal talk. If I was allowed, I’d be quiet all night. ( For the context, I’ve always liked quiet and alone time so all these chaos is like constant drumming in my head so whenever I get a chance, I even hide in the bathroom cos I feel ‘safe/peaceful?’ Like no one can find me)
My husband does offer to help. I am also struggling to let the baby go because I see what he’s like all day and feel like dad won’t be as attentive so all this is also driving me nuts.
My apologies for the long rant.
I realised the issues here but not sure where to start and how is this even going to work?
How did others manage to get back on track?
Thank you 🙏🏻
