Does anyone else experience your writing becoming much better in a non-linear fashion?
Like I always have an idea for a fic and a big dramatic climax scene in my head that I'm just dying to write, sometimes multiple of those scenes and I pull out my phone and write that scene down so I don't forget later. Then the rest of the work is to write from the start and stitch those together.
The thing is, sometimes I start writing that scene again and I remember "oh right, I already did this, I can just copy from earlier in the document". Then I compare the two of the exact scene that I wrote and the draft version has just more passion into it, better words, better descriptions, it's like a better version of me wrote it. Is that weird? Why do I become worse when I write linear but better when I write random achronological chunks of text?
