Korean dating a Pakistani Muslim guy

TL;DR; 21F Korean, grew up in the UK. My boyfriend is 26M Pakistani, born and raised in the UK. We dated for a yr.

Neither of us is particularly religious, but he’s recently been wanting to practice Islam more because he said it gave him a lot of peace when he was at his lowest. He hasn’t pressured me to convert or change my beliefs, and he tries not to stress me about it, but religion has been coming up a lot lately. I’m Catholic, although not super religious myself, and I know I could potentially marry within my faith.

He says dating is haram and sometimes feels guilty about us if simply to put in that way, which is confusing because he also clearly loves me and doesn’t want to pressure me. Outside of religion, we actually have a lot in common. He’s really into Korean/East Asian culture and music and works with some producers in Korea. I’m an art uni student and art/music are basically my whole thing, and I’ve done cover art for some of his music. We connect really well creatively. I also have BPD, ASPD traits and serious Type 2 diabetes, and he’s been pretty understanding and supportive about that. I’m just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation where both people started off not very religious, but one partner gradually wanted to become more practising. Is it possible to make something like this work longer term, especially when marriage and family eventually come into the picture?
