Okay, genuinely asking at this point, I have heard the word "surge", "tide" and "wave" amongst others being used to describe the recent wins that the DSA backed lefties have had in Democrat primaries, but how many victories has it actually been? I think I have only heard about 3 or 4 recently with AES being the largest one. There have been overwhelmingly more liberal progressive/establishment democrat wins than democratic socialist ones in the primaries, no? How come all the media outlets are running the same/similar headlines?

It feels like after Mamdani won the Primary (while being backed by many Liberals given that Cuomo was cozying up to Trump around then) and subsequently the mayoral election, I have seen a steady inflow of headlines that have been sensationalizing the scale of the victory there and in lower stake races as a "defeat of the establishment". Was it just memory holed that Cuomo tried to sabotage the party by running as an independent in the race?

Furthermore, you have the matter of which seats were won, Establishment Dems have had victories against the GOP in the actual House races. [4 seats have been flipped from Red to blue by establishment Democrats in 2026](https://www.multistate.us/elections/seat-flips) via special elections, I have yet to see the DSA backed candidates accomplish anything that is politically comparable historically aside from antagonizing the Democrat Establishment that they are (unfortunately for everyone involved) a part of. Yet most reporting of this doesn't get nearly as much traction as the democratic socialists comparatively less significant victories. Just seems bizzarre, though I could be schizoposting.

**TLDR: It feels like the media ecosystem is hell-bent on targeting the Democrat Establishment by either underplaying their wins or amplifying DSA wins disproportionately.**
