No air flowing in vents after power outage
I live in Ohio where we got hit with a derrecho yesterday and lost power for 36 hours. It came back on about 3 hours ago, but is not blowing any air through the vents at all (hot or cold). I have flipped both breakers for the AC and furnace, waited 15 mins, still nothing. The outside unit is working and spinning.
I have had a couple issues this summer when I would be cooking something in my oven or doing lots of laundry, it would kick off this same way but if I turned it completely off for 30 mins and then turned it back to cool it would come on. My apartment complex doesn't see that as an issue because they claim the contract they have with an HVAC company, i have to meet certain requirements for a replacement and since it ultimately does work most of the time, i dont meet the criteria. Altough, after cleaning every vent in the house and not turning the air below 72, I haven't had that issue in a couple weeks.... until now.
I also live in a middle apartment unit and even though it will drop into the low 60s at night, no amount of windows open or fans going will cool my apartment down.
Just wanted to see if anyone could help before I turn into a "you know what" with my leasing office.
Thank you in advance!!
Sincerely,
A very hot irritable mom with 4 sweaty angry kids
