Navigation feedback: How many sections to put in a dashboard and when to move to a separate page in an mobile app? [AI]

AI Feedback Request

Hey! I'm working on a mobile dream journaling app. Looking for some feedback on a navigation decision I keep stumbling over.

Current structure: My bottom bar has 3 items: Dashboard, a prominent center Record button and Settings.

Inside the Dashboard there is a tab menu with All Dreams / People / Tags.

  • All: chronological list of dream entries
  • People: list of all people -> on click some details open
  • Tags: list of all tags -> on click also some details open

My question: People and Tags are pretty "rich" list views already. People and Tags also have detail views which currently replace the list view (not the whole screen). Does that richness mean they deserve their own tab in the bottom bar? Or is keeping them inside the Dashboard the right call? I wonder if I then should add all as separate tabs to the bottom bar but I think thats too much.

I mean I could maybe also get rid of the settings and put them in some header bar but this still does not solve the other issues.

I know it's a minor issue but I don't come to a conclusion so happy about some feedback.
