All of my brushes suddenly disappeared, what happened? New Krita user

I opened Krita to start sketching but got a pop-up stating that there are no longer any brush presets available and that I need to enable a bundle? But the options it gave me were already enabled and the only one that wasn't wouldn't activate because it just took me to my PC's files (and I have nothing related to brush bundles installed). Everything was working fine before and suddenly every single brush was wiped so I literally couldn't draw.

I just decided to reinstall Krita before trying anything else and wouldn't you know, everything came back! Including various new brushes I haven't seen before. Was this just an update I needed to install? Should I be downloading bundles? Sorry if this sounds dumb--I've been using Krita for a couple of months now but never got to properly learn how it works lol.
