Max: 2012-2022
Mipha: 2016-2025
Ori: 2022-Present

I got a number of comments on my last post with folks talking about losing their dogs and it reminded me of a recommendation I wanted to make...

Lap of Love: [https://www.lapoflove.com/](https://www.lapoflove.com/)

My wife and I were heartbroken when we found out that Max's cancer had spread and that there was nothing more we could do for him. We found Lap of Love and I will NEVER do it any other way!

Instead of letting him go in a cold, unfamiliar place, Lap of Love came to our house and we were able to let Max pass on his favorite spot on the couch feeling comfortable, calm, and safe. The vet was incredibly kind and gentle with him (and us) and gave us the time we needed to say goodbye.

Three years later, Mipha was diagnosed with a rare form of lymphoma. The vet said she only had two months but she was stubborn, and held out for three and a half. Eventually it became clear she was suffering so we had to make the hard choice to let her go. She had always been TERRIFIED of the vet's office so, again, we chose Lap of Love. The vet came to the house and Mipha decided her favorite sunny spot on the front porch was where she wanted to go. She wasn't scared, she wasn't alone.

Now we have Ori. He's the goofiest, friendliest block-head you could every hope to meet. We've had him for a year and he's turning four in November. We're really hoping it will be a long time before we have to say goodbye but I know that we'll be turning to Lap of Love when the time comes.

I don't work for Lap of Love and I'm not being compensated in any way for making this post but I feel like everyone who loves their dogs as much as I've loved mine should know that this is an option.

Recommendation for saying goodbye: Lap of Love
