Stripe closed my account and now holding money

Unsolved

This is my second post on this ongoing issue.

I started using stripe recently to accept CC payments from my 2 repeat clients that I have been working with since last 3 years and have known them even before. Before that I was using Soarpay/Maverick but was unhappy with the rates. With my recently negotiated work contracts, I was easy looking at 7 digit in sales(with ZERO disputes).

Our clients are Travel agent and Medical repatriation companies that book Commercial flights with us for their missions. Majority of tickets are Business and First Class , which explains the cost. "Our services include itinerary management, flight reservations, and travel support. We currently serve 2–3 recurring clients and will use Stripe exclusively to collect payments for these services." this was mentioned in Business description while applying and that is what we used Stripe for.

Most travels are completed within days of delivery and my clients pay for them using payment links.

Excitement turns into Nightmare from here.

Last week, we processed 5 transaction totalling $57,723, averaging $11,544.70 per transaction, with highest one being $15,297.79 . Stripe placed the larger one under review and asked me details, which I provided. Later I received an Email that Stripe is closing our account.

I appealed against the closure and they rejected it as well. In the appeal I shared my past merchant statements, Bank statements, My agency documents, Tax identification and even the ARC accreditation letter to establish the fact that we are a legitimate travel business. I haven't received a single dispute/Chargeback in last 2 years of processing payments with Maverick/Soarpay/Stripe.

This is what they wrote:

"After conducting a further review of your account, we've determined that we won't be able to accept payments for your account moving forward.

Payouts to your bank account have been paused for 120 days, until December 10, 2026. During this time, held funds will be used to cover any disputes or refunds on your account. The remaining balance will be transferred to your bank account on December 10, 2026."

Now I owe a large chunk of this payout to vendors, who helped me secure tickets for my clients. This entire situation has jeopardised an otherwise clean business with no chargebacks/dispute history. Both my clients are ready to provide anything that can help Stripe understand that they wilfully paid and received the tickets. They even asked me to refund the transactions in question, and they will pay the amounts via ACH. Not sure if Stripe allows that or even if they do, why would I lose the money charged by them for processing.

After reading similar threads, I am also considering BBB, FTC and CFPB route starting tomorrow as Stripe has closed the gates with our money sitting inside. Even if there was a single dispute, I would have understood the grounds for their action.

Particularly interested in hearing from people who had similar experiences. I will keep you all posted about any developments.
