Hey everyone, I'm a solo dev making a turn-based tycoon/economy sim where you can specialise into any supply chain from turn 1: coal, tyres, computers, whatever. You don't need to unlock the same route every game. You build your company out, buy up factories and chemical plants, and try to adapt to a carbon tax that's coming for your polluting power plants and furnaces.

The map is pretty, but I kept wanting to see *just my stuff*. So I made this: I'm calling it the Empire view for now. Press Tab to see just your buildings and what they feed: which mine supplies the furnace, which furnace supplies the steel mill, what goes out through the port and onwards to the global market. It ignores how many tiles away buildings are and focuses on the relationship between them instead.

The building sprites are done in Blender (the stairs are not health and safety compliant, I know). Still a few more to go. I;m doing the Electrolyser next.

I'm thinking of adding little resource icons that travel along the lines while goods are in transit. Worth doing, or do you reckon it would just be noise?

(PS if you've got a better name than Empire view, I'm all ears.)

Demo will be out on itch at the end of the month if you want to catch it: [https://carbonandcapital.itch.io/carbon-and-capital](https://carbonandcapital.itch.io/carbon-and-capital)

Ai disclosure: resource icons were generated with AI, but all assets designed with AI are placeholders and I want to replace them before a wide release.

The music in the video is in the game and is ***NOT*** AI. It's licensed music.

My turn based tycoon game has a second map that shows only your buildings and who supplies whom
