Rant from someone who loves programming.

Slop Post 💩

I learned programming pre AI first ever project was 2013 first actual project (no tutorials) 2015 now I work full time as a programmer with a 5 year education in CS.

I LOVE programming, I love solving logical problems, following business logic and I love learning new ways of doing things within my projects that improve their functionality.

I have used ChatGPT since around 2022-2023 almost every work day, for stuff like researching better ways to do X, Y, Z and sometimes even helping make scripts for legacy manual stuff.

Today, for the first time ever I used Claude CLI with a max subscription using fable 5....

WAOW, I had 5 instances running doing code that was planned waaaay in the future just to push it, how much can it get done, how much usable code could I get from it.

At the end of today I had 7 pull requests that I needed to review. So far 2 / 7 done and I must say, it's not bad, the code worked not really any mistakes, most of my comments were code style it didn't really fit into the project. It quickly resolved that.

It was fun, seeing it slave away me tending to my emails cleaning my Desktop while it worked.

My boss is the one that has pushed for it, and today was the day of reckoning.

He has also begun on some of the features we have in backlog prompting it etc, and tomorrow I'm supposed to help him get hooked up to our git repository so he can pump out AI code as well.

I feel a sense of dread, not because I fear for keeping my job, but for what that job will become.

I'm no longer a programmer just a code reviewer.

Sorry for the rant, just wanted to share.
