Would you watch Mertes as enemies again in S2?

I’ve been thinking about this a bit and I’m curious to know how others feel. If season 1 ended with a huge misunderstanding (like Nezir forcing Mercan to breakup with Ates to save his life) that resulted in Mercan and Ates being enemies again, would you have watched?

I‘m wondering if people would have criticised the show for repeating the story from s1 and dragging it out, or if they would have finally been satisfied.

Personally, I find it refreshing that we get to see married Mertes and all the character growth that comes with it, however, the drawback is that when a couple is happily married their story is inherently less interesting, which is what I think is bothering people this season.

It also seems like most of the audience is missing the enemies era.
