Front Catalytic Converter Advice

About two weeks ago I got a CEL, I scanned it but threw out no codes. Took it to a reputable shop they inspected it for free and said that my front catalytic converter is inefficient and quoted me $959. I had my rear catalytic converter replaced with them for higher but I’m thinking im gonna replace it myself but these prices are crazy high same as what the shop quoted me. Is there any front cats you guys can recommend me or should I just have the shop do it for me? I am also not from California idk if having the carb specific cat will bump that price up or not.
