Why do Redditors get so mad when you repost or ask the same question in different subreddits?
I genuinely don’t understand why this bothers people so much.
Sometimes I’m looking for advice, so I’ll post the same situation in a few different subreddits because I want opinions from different communities. Then people go through my post history, find the other posts, and start accusing me of being a bot, karma farming, or making the story up.
I also sometimes repost something in the same subreddit if it got basically no responses the first time. I only do this when the subreddit doesn’t have a rule against reposting. Maybe I posted at a bad time, it got buried, or nobody who had useful advice happened to see it.
Yet people still get mad and focus entirely on the fact that I reposted instead of the actual question.
I’m not trying to spam anything. I’m asking because I genuinely want advice from a wide range of people. Different communities can give completely different perspectives, and reposting something that nobody answered gives other people a chance to see it.
If the subreddit allows it and I’m not breaking any rules, why is this considered such a huge problem?
