What's this horror movie?

Please help me find this horror movie. Here's my fragmented memories:

- early 2000's, potentially direct to video

- very low budget, guerilla style filmmaking

- a group of criminals hide out in a country house after a robbery. At the end, there's a portal to another dimension, along with some sort of humanoid creature with bugged out eyes. In a very early scene, the main criminal shaves or cuts his hair in a gas station bathroom

- practical effects heavy. most of the movie takes place in a house, which was fully built on a soundstage

- my brain wants to say the title maybe contains the words "13th, 12th, gate, door, midnight"
