How do I make expandable modular factories look good?

I started a stable plan for the rest of my save (currently on phase 3), which is to make various modular factories that can be expanded later. Any ways to do this AND make it look good? I feel like if I design it with so much extra space I'll still run out, and it will look weird for being this big for my current t stage.
