Book vs Series

Hi everyone, I never once in my life heard of this book lol so I wanted to hear from who has already read it. Personally, I didn't love the show, it felt too slow and I struggled with actually loving Sam and Percy as a couple

Is the book very different?

I know its two very different things but I was expecting something a bit more alike to Off Campus.
