Client VPN and Policy-Based Routing Issue

Hello UniFi Community,

I have noticed that since the introduction of the new Policy-Based Routing (PBR) function in UniFi Network 10.4 and subsequent releases, routing traffic through VPN clients appears to have become significantly less reliable/broken.

I have experienced this issue with both WireGuard and OpenVPN. When traffic is routed through a VPN client using PBR, throughput can drop to less than one-third of the normal connection speed, and in some cases, the VPN tunnel appears to stop passing traffic altogether.

I have also noticed that I am no longer consistently receiving notifications indicating when a Policy-Based Routing rule has started or stopped routing traffic through the VPN client.

Prior to UniFi Network 10.4, this configuration was working reliably without these issues.

Is anyone else experiencing similar behavior with Policy-Based Routing and VPN clients? If so, have you found a workaround or configuration change that resolved the issue?

Any information, troubleshooting suggestions, or experiences you can share would be greatly appreciated.
