Movie Villain

Complaint

Ok I know everyone talked about the movie sucking but I just wanted to verbalize why I think it’s so bad and really it’s the villain plot
I am still trying to wrap my head around how the writers thought bringing back Adrian Harris as the big bad mastermind made any sense. When you actually look at the math and the real world logistics it completely falls apart.
First of all his survival breaks the entire magic system of Season 3A. Jennifer Blake needed to complete the Five Fold Knot for her power. She explicitly said "that is why it is called a sacrifice" because the deaths mattered. Harris was supposed to be the final Warrior sacrifice. If he survived the garrote wire then the sacrifice was incomplete. Jennifer should have never received her warrior strength. Furthermore she never should have been able to move on to targeting the parents like Melissa, Chris, and Sheriff Stilinski if the previous loop of the knot was broken.
Beyond the broken supernatural math his actual personality was completely retconned. In the show the big joke was always that he is a dick but he is not evil. He was a lonely high school chemistry teacher who got played by Kate Argent in a bar because he thought a hot woman wanted to talk about chemistry. He accidentally gave her the knowledge to pull off the Hale house arson and murder. In Season 2 Matt used his car as a red herring for the Kanima master. He was always a gullible human pawn trapped in a supernatural world. The leap from giving Stiles detention to executing a multi decade international revenge plot to unleash a Japanese fox demon over a lost teaching job is ridiculous.
But the absolute peak of the plot hole is the real world travel logistics. Sheriff Stilinski officially reported Harris as missing and assumed dead in Season 3. In the real world his identity and social security number would be completely flagged in government databases. You cannot get a passport issued to a dead man. Even if he had a valid passport before his attack adult US passports expire after 10 years. The movie takes place 15 years later so his passport would have been useless for 5 years.
Somehow we are supposed to believe a high school teacher got past the TSA, boarded an international commercial flight, and passed Japanese customs. On top of that he has a massive wrap around neck scar from being strangled. An international traveler looking sketchy with a giant throat scar would get pulled into secondary screening immediately. The moment they ran his fingerprints he would be identified as a dead man from Beacon Hills. He never would have made it past Terminal 3 let alone to Japan to rob Liam who he has never even met.
An assassin from the Season 4 Deadpool would have made way more sense. It would bridge the gap to the human hatred in Season 6B and give a realistic motive instead of this passport fraud nightmare.
