Stupid toilet bits replacement problem…

Need to replace the intake valve bit. This requires removing the plastic ring on the outside. Easy, right? No. I was a fool and wanted a smooth profile, easy to clean the outside, toilet. Between the toilet itself having a large ceramic flange that runs the whole depth of the tank and the close set of the toilet to the wall I can’t get s as my tools in there to loosen the stupid plastic flange.

Ideas that don’t involve removing the toilet from the floor? I’m not afraid to put a hole in the drywall, but it’s all so close I don’t know how I would do that either.
