Herkese merhaba! 🪸🔥🤍
For the record, I waited to watch 7 episodes to write my first post about Arafta season 2. After watching season 2 episode 8, it has become quite evident that season 2 has lost the plot.
Let me start with the small positives. I enjoyed the [\#Cemet](https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/cemet) scenes, although they felt very disconnected and very brief. The recreated scenes took me completely out of it. The argument was cute and the banter felt fun, but very briefly.
Now coming to the rest of it. What the hell is Ateş up to? His character has been completely decimated. It took him more than AN HOUR of episode 8 to remember that he loves Mercan and that he is married to the woman. The disparities in his words and actions are jarring. He was ready to plan kids with this woman an episode ago, and now he cannot even take a stand for her? Like I said, actions always speak louder than words. His apology and promises are nothing but empty, since he cannot live up to them. Yes, I am aware that he is grappling with reuniting with his sister, who he thought was dead, but that does not change the reality of the rest of his relationships, let alone his family, and his wife Mercan. They have successfully ruined the character that they spent 100 episodes building up and developing.
I do not blame Eylül one bit for how things turned out. In her position, her reactions and her questions to Ateş are perfectly valid and justified. Her acting also shines in an otherwise dismal bunch of episodes.
As someone who loved and enjoyed Arafta season 1, through the thick and the thin, it pains me to say that watching Arafta season 2 has become much like enduring slow and grueling torture. I do not think I can watch Mercan crying her eyes out and Ateş behaving like a statue with no feelings or sense of responsibility. It has been lovely knowing and speaking to people on this sub, for the 6 months I was here, but this was it for me. I wish everyone the best!
I hope Emin and Ilsu move on to bigger and better projects, that live up to their talent and potential. Thank you if you took the time to read so far! 🤍
Herkese teşekkür ederim! Güle güle! ❤️

Arafta writers have lost the plot (quite literally)
