According to Clips4Sale, sales of content related to prolonged orgasm control (edging, gooning, tease and denial...) have grown by 151% since November 2023, and by another 49% over the past six months. This fetish was named the “fetish of 2026.” Sensuali’s Kink Index records a 778% increase in searches for gooning and edging over five years, and a 91% increase for edging itself. In Comparekink surveys, around 80% of respondents say “yes” to the practice of “bringing a partner to the edge,” and nearly the same number say “I want to be brought to the edge.”

Edging and orgasm denial have become part of a cultural landscape that is gaining popularity at a frighteningly fast pace. It is noteworthy that interest in these practices is shown by women and men equally.

The most direct and recent source on interest in edging is the statistics from the Comparekink website (surveys among people interested in kinks). There, interest is measured separately in two roles: “bringing a partner to the edge” and “being brought to the edge.”

Desire to edge a partner

Heterosexual men: \~84%

Heterosexual women: \~78%

Bisexual women: \~78–79%

Lesbians: \~77%

Gay and bisexual men: \~73–75%

Desire to be edged oneself

Heterosexual women: \~77–78%

Bisexual women: \~78%

Heterosexual men: \~75%

Lesbians and gay men: approximately 74–76%

That is, there is almost no difference between men and women. Women slightly more often want to be brought to the edge, men slightly more often want to do it themselves. But overall interest is very high and continues to grow across all groups — around 75–84% “yes.”

At the same time, among women for whom denial has become an almost regular practice, the interest can be very deep. It is precisely girls who tend to fall into the so-called “autorecursive libido loop,” when the already existing arousal begins to generate itself, each time increasing the intensity of the urges, and each new urge makes one desire more, burning through the usual protective mechanisms that allow one to slightly reduce the heat, leaving her completely exposed before her lust and wet tension.

This is connected to the fact that, fortunately for girls, the female body is capable of continuing to accumulate arousal in places where men often begin to experience orgasmic spasms. At the same time, the very period of maintaining high arousal continues to accumulate new layers toward which the “goonette” exploring her limits will strive more and more often. Therefore, the capacity for deeper responsiveness evokes a correspondingly deeper interest in the practices.

Additionally, in many girls the refractory period is either very short or practically absent. After orgasm (especially if it is not too strong or is ruined), the body often remains in a state of high sensitivity. Arousal does not reset to zero but rather “layers on top.” Therefore, with proper, careful and prolonged practice, a woman is indeed capable of bringing herself to more saturated pre-orgasmic and orgasmic states that, over time, with each practice, only become stronger. Arousal more often has a cumulative, wave-like character — it accumulates, is held for a long time, and then intensifies.

This is where the autorecursive libido loop arises, making edging no longer just a hobby and quickly attracting so many new participants.

Interest appears in solo and group practices. The practices cause more intense states, which causes an even greater desire. Teasing and denial occur much more often, and in the process the participant begins to read, watch, and subscribe to thematic resources. Her attention increasingly revolves around this topic, which supports the arousal, beginning to perceive it as a proper, everyday state of the body between periods of intimate stimulation.

Then the algorithms pick up our interest, amplifying it with content, making the content more and more varied, progressive, and adaptive to the characteristics of each person.

For example, in men, with the right techniques (especially without ejaculation), it is also possible to achieve a cumulative effect, a multiple increase in responsiveness, and even multiple orgasms if they are allowed. It simply requires more training, and sometimes stricter discipline.

And in girls with pronounced empathy, extraversion, and erotophilia, arousal multiplies many times over during group practices. Many note that in such synchronization their own edge becomes much sharper and more controllable.

It is important that group practice works powerfully only with very clear consent rules, the possibility to leave at any moment, and the absence of pressure. Safety for girls is an undervalued large part of the arousal that becomes noticeably deeper and “denser” in the moment of absolute and confident trust in the partners.
