False Advertisement during admissions in a NIT (IIEST Shibpur)?

I am writing this as a 2nd year student of IIEST, when I chose this college in CSAB councelling (2025), I was scared of the living conditions, by the old posts all over reddit, but there were news articles and official sources that the new 1000 Seater boys hostel would be inaugurated by September 2025 (i.e 2-3 months after the initial physical reporting) But, guess what, it was never done.. then we heard that it would be constructed by the end of our first year. At the time of admission there was a fee hike of ~6,000 INR, in the name of hostel development fees.
Ans apparently these so called developed hostels don't even have western toilets, clogged drains, unhygenic mess, unsafe water and many more.

Now the thing is, our seniors paid 4k for the same shitty hostels, and now this year we are paying 10k for the same shitty hostels!? how does that make any sense... Neither the room capacity is being reduced to 2 seater... and also, if you think 3 seater is acceptable.. the rooms are SMALL asf, barely enough for two people to survive. My bathroom is probably bigger than these rooms where 4 people are accommodated.

Who is answerable to where our extra 6k of fees hike was used? We, the students of IIEST need to unite and ask questions, for whats our right, and for what we are paying.

We wont vacate our current hostel, till someone is answerable and takes accountability. Seriously, whats with government bodies and accountability man...

Also this year (2026) there was another false advertising scandal, of the alleged conversion if IIEST to IIT, many upcoming juniors must have influenced their decision keeping these in mind, I have gotten several people biased by this thing. What is this scandalous scheme from IIEST? and news articles also support this, further validating the false claims.
