Unknown Artist - Print/Lithograph?
Hi all, I’m new here, but fascinated by the thrill of the hunt, so I thought I’d reach out to this group for help. I bought this print off Marketplace because it looked really cool and I was intrigued by it. There’s so much going on and every time I look at it, I see something new. I also love the hunt of trying to uncover the origin of things. I’d love to know whop made this so I can begin to understand the story of it…and also answer peoples questions when they see it.
Artist - Unknown.
Title - “Try it who knows??”
Limited run - 72/100
Size - 21”x28”
The person I bought it from had owned it for 20+yrs and could not figure out who the artist was, so it’s now my turn to continue the search.
It was bought from a consignment store in Toronto - “of things past”. As per the sticker on the paper backing of the frame…unknown date.
I've added detail photos of the image for your curiosity.
Could be of German origin due to details on the print.
- Deutsche Bundespost Stamp - Linked to West Germany Postal services (1949-1994)
It’s signed and numbered in pencil. The signature is hard to decipher.
Initials of the signature could be S.B. or B.B or B.S
There’s a gold stamp at the top left. Unknown origin. Google says it could be of East Asian origin? Who knows.
I haven’t opened the back of the frame yet, but open to see what you think I should do.
