I Didn’t Realize How Much I Avoided Certain Photos Because of My Face
I never really liked straight-on photos of myself, so I’d automatically turn my head a little or look for a better angle. I always blamed it on the camera, but honestly I knew I was mostly trying to hide how my jaw looked.
It got especially noticeable in group pictures. I’d take a bunch of photos afterward just to find one where my face looked “right,” which started feeling ridiculous.
Before my Korea trip, I decided to finally get a consultation instead of constantly thinking about it. I ended up going to a clinic in Myeongdong, and the doctor pointed out that it wasn’t just about the jawline. They looked at my overall face balance, which I honestly hadn’t considered before.
I ended up getting a lifting treatment and kept checking the mirror afterward out of habit.
The biggest difference wasn’t even seeing some dramatic change. I just felt less tempted to hide my face in photos.
Still catching myself looking for the “good angle” sometimes though 😂
