How does a RR relationship work

i've been getting more into RR lately but i still struggle to understand the whole definition

like the way i've interpreted it is that the woman occupies the traditionally masculine gender roles

But i see some stuff about dudes wearing womens clothing and the women wearing mens and it swaps is that like mandatory cause i like RR but i dont wanna wear female clothing
