Himalayan 450 vs Guerrilla 450 for a 5'3" / 29.5" rider — looking for 10,000+ km owners' experience

Buying Advice- India and Asia

New rider here, currently researching my first serious touring motorcycle.

I'm 5'3" (160 cm), with a ~29.5" / 75 cm inseam. My goal isn't hardcore off-roading. I want to do long intercity highway trips, mountain roads, and eventually Ladakh/remote Himalayan routes.

I'm currently torn between the Himalayan 450 with the factory low seat and the Guerrilla 450.

The biggest thing I'm trying to figure out is:

I'm less interested in spec-sheet comparisons and much more interested in real ownership experience.

If you've done 10,000+ km on either bike — or, even better, have ridden/owned both — I'd really appreciate your perspective on:

  1. For a shorter rider, how different do the two bikes feel in stop-and-go traffic, U-turns and uneven/cambered roads?
  2. Does the Himalayan's extra height and weight become something you simply stop noticing with experience?
  3. How does the Guerrilla hold up on 500–1,000 km highway/intercity trips?
  4. For mountain roads and places like Ladakh, where does the Guerrilla genuinely reach its limits compared with the Himalayan?
  5. If 80–90% of the riding is paved, is the Himalayan's additional rough-road capability worth carrying the extra size/weight?
  6. How do both bikes behave fully loaded with luggage?
  7. Which would you choose for highway → mountain roads → remote destinations, rather than hardcore off-roading?
  8. After 10,000+ km, what do you genuinely dislike about your bike?
  9. If you were a 5'3" rider buying your first long-distance motorcycle today, which would you choose and why?

I'd especially value replies from:

  • Riders around 5'0"–5'5" / 29–30" inseam
  • 10,000+ km owners
  • People who have done Himalayan/Ladakh touring
  • Riders who regularly travel with luggage
  • Anyone who has actually ridden both bikes

I'm happy to hear negative experiences too — I'm trying to make an informed decision, not looking for validation to buy an RE.

If you've owned both, I'd especially appreciate a brutally honest comparison — including which one you wouldn't buy again and why.

Real-world experience > specifications. Thanks in advance!
