How does the Mail Recovery Center work?
USPS lost a Priority Mail Express envelope sent to me on July 9 and said it was either sent to the Mail Recovery Center or irretrievably lost.
The envelope had identity documents including a piece of paper with all my contact information. If it were at the MRC would they have connected it to me by now? Is it worth waiting a little to see if they find it or should I just give up?
Trying to figure out when to get a new USA passport because if I report it lost, I lose my new resident visa that was in it and have redo the whole process that took months and thousands of dollars.
Side note: Cannot, no matter what I try, add additional information to my missing mail search. I was told to cancel it and submit a new one but would that somehow put me in the back of a line? Also I had my senator looking into it would it remove the congressional flag on my search or is that connected to my tracking number? I asked her to share the information with USPS but it doesn't seem like the people there she's talking to are talking to the MRC.
