How screwed am I?

well, I don’t know how to go about this but I just moved out of an apartment after two months after finding it was infested with cockroaches. we’ve now been in our new apartment for about a month and have been getting bit like crazy only to see with our own eyes last night the bed bugs in the crevices of our sheets. we stripped everything off. threw out the sheet where we saw the infestation, cleaned everything else on high heat. I’m planning to throw out the mattress out of precaution even though I haven’t spotted anything on it and we have an exterminator coming out today. what are the odds this is going to be even worse than I think? anyone have a similar experience? I’m so traumatized and scared after going through so much with the cockroaches previously, any help or insight is appreciated.
