scared about my autism assessment

seeking advice

hi

i have an adult autism assessment next week. even though i've been trying to get an assessment for several years now, i'm getting more and more worried as the assessment gets nearer.

i don't know how autism assessments go but i'm worried that i'll be unprepared for it, i won't be able to communicate well enough verbally to answer their questions, that i'll be having a brain fog day or that i won't be able to remember enough of my life to give them the information they need to assess me.

Lastly, I've spent several years looking into this. After taking one of the diagnostics on embrace autism and being given an informal assessment from my therapist who says she thinks I have level one autism I have begun to self diagnose as autistic. i'm worried that they're going to tell me I'm not autistic and I'm going to feel like a liar and I'm going to be left wondering what's wrong with me and why am I like this?

it's at Mountain Care Network in Charleston, West Virginia. I don't know if anyone here has any experience with that place…
