I'm starting to get a bit bored, what challenges or things can I do??

The game is starting to feel a bit repetitive every character goes through the same, find a weapon, loot a little, find a base, clear the base, loot more, wall off the base, get a generator, get water barrels, etc.

I've done it dozens of times, what can I do to not get bored in the game?
