Do y'all think that you bring out the worst in people?

I have noticed this pattern that the nicest people who give a lot of thought in their self image don't care to do so infront of me. They would be mean , blunt , dismissive or want me to act like their doormat.

For me , its specifically in same sex friendships. I dont know what to say anymore.
