Teacher's Assistant or IT Support?
Graduated with a Bachlor's in Compsci and need help picking between these job options ^^;
Applied to a school for a tech teaching position but they suggested the TA position (for now) since I lack a teaching background. Pays about $18 an hour, there's the seasonal breaks, but it has nothing to do with computers. I'd be helping kindergarteners so at most it'd be about how to use a keyboard. I want to work with kids or at least help others but would it be bad to start my "real" career in education? I applied a week ago, was hired yesterday, and start work on Monday which is nice. Additionally, it's a unionized charter school and I already know someone who enjoys working there, for whatever that's worth.
Applied to the IT position months ago and the third interview is later today. Pays about $28 an hour at the lowest, 8-10 hours, and the interviewer said I'd be doing alot of basic tech stuff around the facility (they manufacture circuit boards, smaller company with <100 employees). They have good client reviews on Google (<15 total at 4.6 stars) but but bad employee reviews on Glassdoor (~3 total at 1 or 1.6 stars). Management is a common complaint. They have been really slow in the hiring process but have a clear promotion path, according to them.
TLDR Should I stay with the easier TA position even if its really out of my field or try for the mildly questionable IT position strongly in my field?
