Heads up if you're considering an Apollo scooter right now...
A friend of mine runs a scooter review site and has been an Apollo affiliate for years. Apollo started delaying his payments more than three months ago, and now they've stopped paying entirely. Other affiliate partners aren't getting paid out anymore either.
The brand still looks like it's operationally sound but behind the scenes it LOOKS like they are going under very soon. Their partners who used to send them customers are going unpaid, usually indicating a cash flow problem. Affiliates tend to be one of the first bills a struggling company skips, right before suppliers and warranty service.
To be fair, I have no inside look at Apollo's books, and I would genuinely like to be wrong here. But a scooter is only as good as the company standing behind it. If Apollo is in real financial trouble, warranty claims and spare parts are likely next to get pulled, with customer service close behind.
If you already own one, no need to panic. Just order any consumables and spares you expect to need while they are still shipping. If you are shopping for a new ride, it might be worth sticking to brands that pay their bills on time. And if anyone from Apollo wants to explain what is going on with affiliate payments, the comment section is right here 😂
