Dealing with the fear of going out in public

Hey all! I'm in my mid 40s and dress when I am out of town for work. I have gone out (to a LGTB bar) once while dressed. I am still super intimidated by it and self conscious in the public space, like the walk through the hotel is a bit terrifying.

What are some ways you have overcome this?
