How many PsyDs got into their program from a non psych background?

I’m relatively new on this platform, so I can only imagine this has been asked before in a different way.

I am just wondering how many people came from a non-psych background and got admitted and where? Did you take psych community college courses or lower division/upper division four year institutions? Did you do more research? How far off was your major from psych?

Background of me: I have a ba and ma in communication, I have a few peer review publications, textbook, chapters, conferences lectures (I was in a ma/phd in communication, I left at the ma, so I was all prepped for the PhD). I was studying media psychology so there is some parallels, but I’m wondering how far off is too far.

I have some industry and community clinical research experience like with non profits, case managing, etc. but mainly market research for Fortune 500 companies.

Overall, I’m just wondering how many psyd programs are usually looking for your traditional psych students.
