For hobbyist beat making, should I upgrade from my Sennheiser HD 598s?
I have a pair of Sennheiser HD598s that have served me well for over 10 years now as a pair of very comfortable headphones (I'm particularly sensitive to uncomfortable pairs and have a big head lol), but I've always felt they leave a lot to be desired when it comes to bass - seems almost non existent. I have never used an amp with them though and am not sure if that would help.
I have recently gotten into beatmaking and house music production for fun and am wondering if I should buy a new pair so that I can learn mixing and mastering more effectively.
I'm currently considering the AKG K240 Studio (only like $50 on Amazon rn), the Audio Technica ATH M40x (for about $110), or the Sony MDR7506 (for about $120).
Would these headphone options be a wise choice, or are my Sennheiser 598's sufficient? I will not be doing any tracking, only mixing.
Thank you all for you help and have a nice day!
