what to buy for a draft night/game night?

i'm throwing a surprise birthday party for my partner. he told me all he wanted was to spend quality time with his friends and loved ones, which includes playing magic. we all have our own decks, but he's mentioned wanting to do a draft night. i'm new to the game, so i need a little help logistically figuring things out haha.

- how many/what should i get for the draft night? there will be 6-7ish people who are playing, and maybe S/Os who might be interested (max, 10 ppl)

- my bf's sibling bought him a draft box for his birthday, and my partner said he'd want to open that alone since it was a gift and he wouldn't want to share it/have to ask for the cards back after. does anyone have any advice about this? should i grab cards that i already know he has so that he doesn't feel like he's missing out when others take their draft items home? help lol
