my classmates vape a lot inside the classroom

okay hi reddit this is my first time ever posting on here, after watching smosh pit reddit stories for like a month now i figured i should post this on here because it has been bothering me for a while since school started.

just a little background story here, im in senior high school, i was supposed to graduate in class of 25-26 but dropped out before the first semester even ended because of depression and a lot of other personal things i will not get into. a year later, i transferred/enrolled into a catholic school where i often hear disgusting stories about (ex. students having intercourse in the bathrooms) but decided to enroll anyway because their schedule was less demanding than that of the other school i was choosing to go to.

at first it was going well, i introduced myself to my classmates and teachers and so on and so forth. but at the start of the instructional block of the term (2nd week of june), people were already vaping inside classroom, which was baffling to me because some of my classmates have asthma and its a CATHOLIC SCHOOL which made me go like wtf?

with my dad already experiencing a stroke years ago after years of frequent smoking and my grandmother on my mother's side of the family dying due to excessive smoking, and also me being sensitive to smoke that being near smoke would make me develop a headache, sometimes a fever, or even asthma-like symptoms, i came to extremely dislike (you can even call it hate) smoking, vaping, things of that sort.

but i really wouldnt give a shit if they smoke or vape, they can do whatever they want because that is their life and it is neither my problem nor my responsibility and it is not like im their parent or anything. my problem is they are doing it in a enclosed space where some people have ASTHMA, they are potentially endangering other students lives. i wouldve turned my back around if they vaped in the bathrooms or even outside but in the literal CLASSROOM?? where other students (who dont smoke/vape) are??

it is especially worse when it is vacant hours, when the teacher doesnt attend class, or when we are practicing for a pe performance. some boys from other classes even went to my class just to borrow a vape from my classmate when we were having our pe practice. i even got a fever after a week of pe practice just because they were vaping a ton because no teacher was supervising the class most of the time.

my classmates told me not to snitch because they (the vapers or whatever they are called) are relatively nice people, and that they mean no harm and are just really stubborn individuals. which makes me conflicted.

im also afraid to snitch because i care a lot about what other people think about me plus i do not like being a loner in school. i already snitched once and that made my anxiety and overthinking even worse because after that they suddenly wouldnt talk to me, would ignore me, and would give me weird glances even after i had made myself comfortable with them. i dont think they knew i snitched because a few weeks later they started treating me normally again (but there is still a chance they know it was me, idk tho might just be me).

anyways just wanted to get this out of my chest, idk how to stop them because even the guards cant stop them from bringing vapes in the school. i figured i should just endure this until the end of the school year because i enrolled there just to graduate, not anything else. but it also makes me feel guilty for tolerating this kind of behavior. idrk what to do besides staying quiet and focusing on my studies, any advice would be appreciated :)

p.s. they are all minors 16-17 yrs of age, i am older by a year or two
